Christopher Tomsett

A lover of all things geomorphology, with a special interest in using novel sensor systems.

UAVs are becoming increasingly popular in environmental research. In vegetated areas it is hard to get a sense of the vegetation structure from an aerial image. Therefore there is potential with UAV based laser scanning to survey these areas more effectively. This is what captures my interest, being able to better map vegetation which is important not only for river landscapes, but all landscapes which are changing under a host of future environmental and climatic conditions.
