Roman Barth

Curiosity-driven physicist working across disciplines and scales to elucidate biological mechanisms.

Starting from the smallest known scale, the laws of nature work seamlessly together to produce unimaginable complex, and eventually living, systems. Understanding their complexity allows us to gain control over (sub-) systems, which can be explored to enable life-changing technologies for mankind. I see myself in the position to unravel some mysteries of life, being personally fascinated by them, but also being motivated by the potential influence a discovery might have on the future of people.
