Discovery of the molecular mechanism, at least in part, that modulate apoptosis in diabetes
Oluwatoyin Ojo is a young researcher whose interest is in evaluating mitochondrial membrane dynamics in pathology, thereby enlightening people living with such diseases to improve their health standard. Her rigorous and dodged research culture as a PhD candidate in the Department of Biochemistry, University of Ibadan, Nigeria, has enabled her to decipher at least in part the mechanism whereby certain molecules modulate the intrinsic apoptotic pathway in diabetes mellitus. This is a novel area in improving health standards of diabetics. She has painstakingly achieved this with commitment to research. Having almost completed her PhD programme, she intends to attend the World Congress on Diabetes and Endocrinology by August 22-23, 2018 in Rome, Italy. She would be grateful if considered for the travel grant.
