quantifying turbulence in urban wind for better fatigue loading design of SWT

URban wind conditions tend to be more turbulent than the open terrain wind condition and small wind turbines sited in the built environment face operational complexities as they are designed based on the wind conditions of the open terrain. Proper characterisation of urban wind will help tease out the parameters that require modification in the current wind standard so that it will be more inclusive of urban wind conditions and newer designs can assure reliable performance and structural integrity of SWTs in the built environment.
