I am interested in the molecular basis of psychiatric disorders.


Men died by suicide more often than women, even though women had more suicide attempts. In this study, we looked for brain biological differences between males and females who died by suicide that could contribute to the sex gap in suicide rates.

Males die by suicide more often than females, even though females present higher rates of suicidal ideation and attempts. This phenomenon is known as the gender paradox in suicide.
