The directional diagram of whispering gallery modes for a concave reflector

Abstract
We compute the short-wave asymptotic behavior of the directional diagram of the whispering gallery modes in a field scattered by a nonplanar screen. Numerical results obtained by solving a two-dimensional Dirichlet problem in the exterior of a parabolic screen are reported for various modes. The total contribution of the whispering gallery modes to the directional diagram is also given.
