Subthreshold regime of amplification of ultrashort pulses in two-component media

Abstract

Results of a theoretical study and computer simulations of amplification of coherent pulses in a two-component media are reported. It is shown that in two-component media the gain is much higher than in one-component ones. The conditions for high-efficiency pulse amplification are discussed.
