Structure formation in powder systems with capillary spreading

Abstract

Structure formation in a powder mixture with capillary spreading of one of its components is considered. The preading processes are described by a diffusion-type equation derived and homogenization equations, with fractal representations employed to characterize the spatial structures of a melt in a powder medium. Experimental studies with a model system show satisfactory agreement between the model and experimental data.
