Abstract

A model is presented which allows one to describe a wide range of phenomena associated with creep crack growth (CCG) which have been experimentally observed. A two-parameter dependence has been obtained for the CCG rate for the first time, and a change of the controlling parameter is described. A structural parameter is presented which characterizes the material's ability to resist the development of large cracks under high temperature creep conditions.
